Glean says the state income tax should be abolished, Christian stewardship encouraged, and moral sovereignty safeguarded against all forms of environmental radicalism, such as those which are being used to chip away at our sovereignty under the imaginary pretext of global warming concerns, or those which he sees as being more principally intended to rob us—young and old alike—of our God-given right to life under the phony premise of overpopulation.

His top two priorities are abortion and same-sex marriage—  he is opposed to both.

John Barsa [VA-44] repudiates his own 'pro-life' credentials in the Mount Vernon Patch.  Background:  Independent candidate, Joe Glean, encourages local voters to awaken from the delusion that assumes John Barsa to be pro-life, when all of the evidence "makes it clear that he is not."  Glean says that Barsa "has already collected well over $11,000.00 in political contributions," adding, "I can't help but wonder how many of those donations came from people who thought they were contributing their money to a pro-life candidate."

VIDEO 7
Independent Candidate [VA-44]: "Take Heart, Virginia— God's not finished with you yet."  Background:  When we look back on the history of Virginia and its heritage, we see a continual glimmer of hope, even in its darkest hours.  Even though Virginia Governor Linwood Holton made a mockery of both his religion and his political party, by subjecting our posterity to the tragedy of abortion in 1970, God has raised up the remnant of this generation, by his own enabling grace… he has raised up good people like you and me to deliver a message.  And that message is one that will be delivered at the ballot-box on Election Day 2011.

VIDEO 6
Joe Glean explains why it's imperative that ordinary citizens take a stand in Virginia's 44th District.  Background:  We look at the Democrat candidate's political shortcomings, and what to we see but every indication of willful neglect, coupled with politically-infused notions of moral relativism.  We look at the Republican candidate's political aspirations, expecting to see something different, but we simply observe the exact same thing.  This is where a "third party" candidacy becomes absolutely necessary.

VIDEO 5
Northern Virginia "tea party" candidate blasts the Republican nomination of John Barsa, 44th District.  Background:  On August 15, 2011, the Republican party made an official announcement relating to the nomination of John Barsa.  In response to that nomination, this statement was delivered by Joe Glean.  He makes a point of challenging the authenticity of Barsa's conservative credentials by discussing, in general, some of the typical tell-tale signs of a counterfeit Republican.

VIDEO 4
Delegate Scott Surovell takes the position that Virginia ought to continue extending benefits to illegal aliens.  Background:  HB 1465 (2011) was a bill intended to prohibit any individual determined to be "not lawfully present" in the United States from enrolling at institutions of higher education within the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The bill was introduced by Del. Chris Peace [VA-97].  This footage shows Scott Surovell's failed attempt to challenge the bill on a technicality.

VIDEO 3
Independent candidate responds to Scott Surovell's proposal to repeal the Marshall-Newman amendment.  Background:  The Marshall-Newman amendment (also known as the Virginia marriage amendment) was ratified by voter referenda in 2006.  It passed with an overwhelming 57% of the vote, defining marriage as solely between one man and one woman, and banning the recognition of any legal status approximating the design, qualities, significance, or effects of marriage.  Transcript available.

VIDEO 2
The 'Blessings of Liberty' --- Joe Glean, prospective delegate, Virginia's 44th House District.
Background:  Joe Glean reads a brief statement, issued from home, on the day that he officially announced his candidacy.  The 'blessings of liberty' consist of life, liberty, happiness, and safety.  It is impossible to have a serious discussion about America's founding principles without calling attention to these four foundational blessings.  These rights were granted us under the framework of natural law, not by the kind and generous hand of government, or the perceived benevolence of our political leaders, but by the very hand of God, himself.  Transcript available.
